Velocity Church

Velocity Church started back in 2009 with the goal of starting a Restoration Movement congregation on Cleveland’s east side. In addition to having Sunday services, Bible studies, and small groups, Velocity is committed to being a huge part of the city. We run leadership development for two of our local school systems, host city wide events for children, and do our best to be a part of the fabric in Cleveland. God has blessed our congregation so much that there have been 341 baptisms since we began.

2020 was a very difficult time for us. Like most congregations, the coronavirus threw our world into a tailspin back. In March of 2020 we lost both of our Sunday morning worship spaces (because we rent our facilities), so we had to develop an immediate online presence to keep the church going. After several weeks of hard work, we were able to get that up and running. We were unable to meet in person from March 2020-April 2021, until we finally got some worship space. The great news is, despite the difficulties, we were able to lead 26 people to Christ and see them get baptized.

Prayer Requests

- Please pray for our Mentor campus. We are not allowed to use the building until we get clearance from the school board. I’ve tried to rent movie theaters, library space, reception halls, and no one will rent to us because of COVID 19.

- Please pray for our staff. Our team has been working overtime since March of 2020 because we aren’t professional videographers or sound engineers and I don’t want them to burn out.

- Please pray that God sends more and more broken people to Velocity…this is truly why we exist and thrive reaching super broken people.

- Like most communities around the world, the coronavirus has hurt a lot of people financially. We have an enormous amount of people out of work, losing their homes/apartments, struggling to make ends meet, and it has really affected our church community as well as our budget.
